Coral
and Fibromyalgia / Chronic Fatigue
I received my Coral Calcium
on Tuesday the 2 of March 2002 and shared a couple of capsules with
my mom, sister and my 10 1/2 year old dog, Bounty that night. We all
got results within 40 to 50 minutes after taking them. I couldn't
believe the rush we all got and the pains and aches started to go
away as if by magic!!! Mom has heel spurs and a sore tailbone....the
tailbone pain was GONE!! My sister Elaine suffers from Fibromyalgia,
like me, and she felt immediate relief from her sore hip and the burning
in her neck went away. Bounty has been running around like he is back
to being a puppy. This stuff is amazing!!! I haven't felt this good
in over 10 years and I'm sleeping soundly again without being sore
each morning when I get up. The chronic fatigue that has almost taken
my life away from me, has disappeared! I feel alive again! I sent
another order via ""with a money order, for two more bottles...one
for me and one for Elaine. I can't wait to get them! The Coral
Calcium is the only thing that has ever worked for me. Thanks
for a wonderful product!! Bye for now... |

Can Osteoporosis be Reversed?
I have been using TrueBlue™ Coral
Calcium for about 3 years now after it was recommended to me by
an herbalist. After my first test I was told that my left hip had
Osteoporosis and if I fell it would likely break. Not yet fifty years
old, I thought that was far too early. I bought a tread mill and started
on Coral Calcium. I use the treadmill and take Coral Calcium
faithfully every day and my next bone density test showed a marginal
increase. The test I had this year indicated the bone density was
up 20%. My doctor was very impressed with those results and told me
to keep up the good work. I commend you on a marvelous product!

Sunlight, Vitamin D and Calcium - How much is enough? |
|
 |
|
 |
| |
TrueBlue™
Coral Calcium Capsules contain 400 IU per cap and we recommend
a maintenance dose of 2 to 3 caps per day which is considerably higher
than the US RDA of 400 IU. Some have asked why we offer so much Vitamin
D and is it safe?
Rumors
that vitamin D can be toxic are common, probably stemming from the
toxic effects of residue due to extraction processes used in the
early 1900's. Newer processes have changed all that.
There
is a very large body of scientific evidence to prove that vitamin
D is safe even in extremely large quantities. The first major study
on Vitamin D toxicity was conducted at the University of Illinois
in 1937 and published in the Annuals of Internal Medicine. It was
a nine year study involving 773 people (and 64 dogs:).
They
concluded that "both human subjects and dogs generally survive
the administration of 20,000 IU per KG (14,545,000 IU for a 160
lb person!) per day for indefinite periods without intoxification"..
Numerous studies have been done subsequently confirming that vitamin
D is both safe and beneficial in large quantities.
Up
to 10,000 IU of Vitamin D is produced by the average human body
when exposed to sunlight on skin for 8 hours (The Calcium Factor,
Robert Barefoot, p.90). Vitamin D works together with calcium to
produce health benefits too numerous to mention here - (OK, I can't
resist one small example - according to a 1997 study by the North
California Cancer Center, the incidence of breast cancer in women
in the northern United States is almost double that in the lower
states (South of Kansas) where there is more sunshine and hence
more vitamin D production.) Watch for future newsletter articles
detailing the benefits of Vitamin D.
You
are probably aware that vitamin D is absolutely necessary to the
absorption of Calcium ions in the small intestine. Some doctors
we consult with believe that a minimum of 1000 IU is necessary to
activate the VDR's (vitamin D receptors) enough to initiate Calcium
absorption.
So
how much is enough Vitamin D? Given that the RDAs are notoriously
on the low side (for example, the RDA for vitamin C is 60 mg per
day!), given the numerous studies done showing vitamin D to be safe
and beneficial, and given the continuing positive feedback from
our users we suggest getting at very least 1000 IU per day for adults.
The sun is still your best source - get outside and enjoy a little
sunlight - at least 15 minutes on bare skin every day. Even if it
is an overcast day there are enough diffused light rays to make
a difference. As with all things keep a balance - you've heard the
warnings about too much mid-day sun. I don't know about you, but
I feel much better on a sunny day than a cloudy one - wonder if
it is at least partly because of the vitamin D?

High Protein Diet Along With Calcium and Vitamin D Supplementation Increases Bone
Mineral Density |
|
 |
|
 |
| |
The
American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has just published an interesting
study by Dawson-Hughes and Harris. They explored the associations
between dietary protein intake and changes in bone mineral density
in elderly subjects. The 161 men and 181 women were part of a 3-year
placebo-controlled study of the effects of supplementation with calcium
citrate and vitamin D on bone mineral density and fracture risk.
Dietary
questionnaires indicated that the subjects' mean protein intake
was 79 g/day, and calcium intake was 871 mg/day in the placebo group
and 1346 mg/day in the supplemented group. For the total body bone
mineral density, a 20% higher mean protein intake was associated
with significantly less loss of total body bone mineral density
in the calcium-supplemented subjects, whereas there was no association
between protein intake and bone mineral density in the placebo group.
The
supplemented subjects also had higher rates of fractional calcium
absorption than the placebo group, which suggests that the calcium
supplementation may have offset protein-related deficits in calcium
balance due to urinary calcium excretion.
Conclusion:
Increasing protein intake a little may have a favorable effect on
bone mineral density in elderly subjects supplemented with calcium
and vitamin D. In other words, as long as you are supplementing
with Calcium, you may want to increase your consumption of protein
to assist in the fight against bone loss

Q & A: |
|
 |

 |
| |
 |
When
is the best time to take Coral Calcium? |
| |
Morning
or night? With meals or without? Best is to space your calcium
intake rather than taking a lot all at once. Your body can only
accept a limited amount per dose, so rather than take it all
in the morning - take some morning and evening. A common benefit
of taking it at night is it relaxes your muscles and helps you
sleep better.
As
far as taking it with meals goes - if you have digestive problems,
acid reflux and the like, by all means take it before meals
as it can make an immediate difference. The dissolution rate
for the coral capsule is 70 minutes so you may want to take
it about an hour before eating or use the powder which dissolves
instantly because there is no gelatin cap. If indigestion
is not a problem, take it any time.

What
is the difference between Chelated, Colloidal and Ionized Minerals |
| |
Dr
Bob Owen Ph.D, D.Sc answers this in his book, "Why Calcium".
He says "Chelate is a Greek word meaning to "claw
or grasp" (and bond with another substance). A chelated
mineral has bonded with an amino acid molecule, recognizable
by the body, thus enabling both the mineral and the amino acid
to be absorbed.
A
colloidal mineral has been "suspended" in a liquid
molecule (usually water). Recognizing water as a necessary
element, the body allows the water, along with the mineral
to be transported into the cells by diffusion and osmosis.
Ionized
minerals are electrically charged molecules, 1000 times smaller
than chelates or colloids, easily absorbed into the blood
and quite readily pass through cellular membranes and into
the interstitial (inner) cell fluid. Ionized minerals, calcium
included, are nearly 100% bio-available. Calcium from Coral
becomes ionized immediately when it touches liquid.

Can
a cream REALLY relieve my headache? |
| |
When
you have a pounding headache it seems unlikely that a cream,
topically applied to your forehead and neck could bring relief,
but REALLY does bring fast relief for most
people. If you think about it, drugs are commonly taken transdermally
- "the patch" provides nicotine through the skin to
stop smoking and Bayer has announced they will soon provide
a topical gel version of aspirin to treat arthritic and other
pain.
The
Headache Balm contains well known natural anti-inflammatory
ingredients such as Evening Primrose, Tumeric and Grape seed
extracts. It has natural analgesics providing pain relief
- Boswellia, and Peppermint Oil are well known traditional
pain relievers. Additionally Caprylic aids with muscle stiffness
for tension headaches and peppermint opens the sinus bring
relief for sinus headaches.
Who
do you know that suffers from headaches? Have them check it
out - remember it comes with a money back guarantee.
